By now, We’ve all experienced the joy of the last pig being crushed for 5000 points; and we have all cursed our mobile phone screen as the stupid last pig that should have died – smiles at us before the “level failed” fills the screen. Yes I’m talking about the phenomenon known as Angry Birds. If you’re like me, and most of you are, you spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to kill the pesky pigs in as few amounts of birds as possible.

Angry birds is an addictive and fun game, however, have you stopped to think about the life lessons you can learn from angry birds?

Here are a few of the life lessons I’ve learned from these digital wingless birds.

If you can do it alone, you’re not challenging yourself.

You’ve heard the old adage; if it were easy everyone would do it. The same thing goes for life. If you think you can do it “all by yourself” aka beat a level with one bird, you’re not challenging yourself. To accomplish anything great in life, to achieve a worthwhile goal, (or beat a hard level), it takes more than just you.

Just as it takes more than one bird to knock down a fortress, it takes a team to accomplish something extraordinary.

We all have our purpose

You may have your favorite bird on the game, the quick yellow bird, the bomb bird, etc.…. because each has a unique purpose; as do people. Some of us are fast and attack goals like yellow birds, some of us are explosive, and some of us are blue birds and work better in teams, while some of us are just “normal” red birds. God made you unique with abilities and talents that others don’t have.

Don’t worry about what you can’t do, focus on using your talent to the best of your ability.

You can’t attack your dreams in life if you’re afraid to launch out into the unknown.

Too often we have dreams we wish to tackle, or pigs we wish to destroy, yet our goals seem like they are impossible to hit and so far away, surrounded by a fortress of adversity. Therefore, many of us sit back on the bird dock where it’s safe. However, the birds in life that get the most points, (Pronounced “achieve their goals”) are those who aren’t afraid to jump in the slingshot, rare back, and shoot for the stars.

To reach your dreams, you have to be willing to put yourself out there and dive headfirst into adversity.

After all…. the treasure chests of dreams you seek is always behind the wall of adversity you must break thru.

Become an angry bird, destroy the pigs that have kept you from reaching your goals, and life that ends with God saying, “Level Cleared – 3 Stars”
