While training for a 50 mile race, my weekend training plan called for a 3 hour run on Saturday, followed by a 10k on Sunday. I didn’t realize how sore I’d be going into the Sunday run and I thought about how important “the day after” a big event is if we want to continue to perform at peak levels.
